With summer approaching an expeditious end, I thought it would be a good time to go over the different astrological events that will be forthcoming between now and the end of Fall. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back, and so comes the shorter days ahead, but with the longer nights imminent, there are a lot of astrological events to look forward to, which will be able to create a stronger stance of balance, especially in terms of finances and career, with a few that will have a more direct effect in terms of love and relationships, if positions of change can be properly prepared for.
The entirety of this article is a bit lengthy, so I have broken it up into parts, which will correspond the dates as well as the placement of the planets. My intention is writing this is to shed some light on some of the more challenging aspects of the astrological shifts ahead through change, by virtue of seeing the truth before our eyes, is upon us in the Zodiac and that this article will properly outline these challenges, giving an easier trajectory to follow as we prepare to spend time with family and loved ones during the last stretch of the year.
There are always contradictory positions in astrology, which is part of how the Universe keeps itself balanced, and so the entirety of what is occurring at any given time, between two or more planets, will provide stronger insight into the events that would be deemed contradictory. For example, Venus in Libra will have a contrary stance to the Sun in Scorpio, which can cause balance between these two sets of positions.
For those that find change to be easy, and can navigate transformative events in life with a steady wind through their sails, the end of the year will prove to be very easy for you, but for anyone that resists change, detests it, and finds it to be disruptive, then you will be in for a bumpy ride. Planning for such events, though, can help with what can be expected, and it can help to clear the air, causing a more tranquil flow of energy, as you move downstream.
The Sun in Libra & the Autumn Equinox:
On Saturday, September 22nd, 2019 at 9:54 PM EST, with the Sun in Libra, the Autumn Equinox will begin. In astrology, this is indicative of the positions that we create for ourselves to harvest the fruits of seeds planted months ago, during the Spring Equinox. This is the start of fall, when the nights grow longer, and sets up up for personal reflection, balance, and tranquility that stems from the understanding of our initiatives that have been able to reach their fullest fruition. When these initiatives haven’t been met in the ways that we need, taking a step back to understand that which we must do to satiate this position is able to help with how we are able to find ourselves creating a stronger course of action throughout the end of the year. For some, the shortened days of fall are able to yield a better initiative for carrying out goals and resetting the board for ourselves to find the greater achievements that we aspire for in life.
The Sun’s trajectory through Libra is a magnetic time in the Zodiac, as it creates a stance of balance and an understanding for polarity in energy between people, concepts, ideas, thoughts, suggestions, etc. In the Tarot, the Justice card is the position of Libra, not only because of its balance, but because of the necessary position in the hierarchies of mankind that have been present since the beginning of human existence. As many of you know, the tarot is a pictorial representation of these hierarchies, and show the positions of life that are able to have the greater influence over our lives. Where recent past influences over Libra have served to decimate this position in the hierarchy, this Libra season will be working diligently to rectify these positions, due to Venus’ Retrograde in Scorpio, Mars in Aquarius, and Jupiter in Scorpio (which I have often referred to as Scorpio’s revenge). This will be the last hurrah for the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements, before they decide to make a complete jump into the consciousness of society, with repercussions from these positions that will be felt for years to come.
Libra tends to be a positive time for air and fire signs, especially for Aries, Leo, Libra, and Gemini. For Sagittarian and Aquarian individuals, this can pull toward a longing for wanting instant gratification, especially with Sagittarius’ position for searching for truth and Aquarius’ position for noticing unfairness, both in terms of what is noticed in the scope of what justice is. With some of the more major shifts that are occurring in what justice is, complications can be felt. Understanding that society does bend toward justice is able to provide some semblance of hope, in terms of how this is able to be overcame. Individuals with Taurus as their Sun Sign can feel a lack of groundedness as the leaves fall, if there aren’t proper measures in place for creating a more grounded position. Capricorn and Virgo tend to do well in the fall and winter months, though, especially when they are both able to do the things they most enjoy.
As is the rule, wherever the Sun is in the Zodiac, that is where the Moon will be new (dark). The full moon will always be in the opposite sign of the Sun’s placement in the respective Zodiac sign. During The Sun in Libra, the New Moon will be in Libra and the Full Moon will be in Aries, as Aries is its opposite of Libra on the Astrological Wheel. Both of these energies are in fair contrast to each other, as they are part of the balance of the Zodiac in their most virtuous dualities, which will be explained, below.
In the Tarot, the Moon represents the nature of deepened emotions and also shows a clear passage through that which is unenlightened, in order to bring light to any given situation, on the other side of it. This also corresponds to the nature of manifestation which is best brought forward during the New Moon, giving way to the fruition of the manifestation during the course of the Full Moon.
Full Moon in Aries:
On September 24th. 2018 at 7:03 PM EST, the Full Moon will be in Aries, which is a wonderful time, while in Libra, to bring the fullest realizations of manifestation forward from what we have brought to the table from the end of the summer. For many people that have the Moon in Aries, there is a capacity for a higher understanding of the occult, divination, mysticism, and other such subjects. This is also an especially creative energy for musicians, artists, and performers. For others, especially those that have their Sun Sign in an Earth Sign, this can create fortitude for business, as the Moon in Aries can create a stance for an individual to become a natural born leader and provides an understanding for being able to see that which is difficult to be sign by others, especially in terms of financial forecasting, business hurdles, and even challenges that may arise with employees, CEOs, and other mechanisms of business. This provides a stance for overcome such hurdles by careful planning and quick maneuvering.
The Moon in Aries can be quite vibrant, exhilaratingly brash, and evenly moody. As a Gemini whose Moon sign is in Aries, I am very much aware of the pull of energy that is able to exist with this all too often incompatible duo astrologically. This has a fiery burst of fortitude that is put out by obstacles, struggles, but also by creating difficult transformations that, if defied, only stand to create disharmony, especially during the New Moon in Aries. But with the Full Moon in Aries, this creates a powerful position in the Zodiac for people born with an Aries Moon, that ignites creativity, fortitude, and an uncanny ability to see the creation that exists just beyond the barriers of destruction.
For argument’s sake, in this example, we will use the Moon card, in Tarot, as being representative of the Moon in the our sky. The generally accepted standard of this is for the Moon card to represent Pisces, but this is part of a bigger body of work that I will be putting out, which will explain this as a fallacy. That doesn’t mean that one is more correct over the other, but the Moon card is associated with the elements of the subconscious mind, which is very indicative of the energies of the Moon and its symbolism throughout history. In the “Thoth” deck, the Moon is described as “the passage of darkness that must be traveled through, in order to see the light.”
The Emperor card represents Aries, which represents conquest, strife, and ultimate victory. This is where the path for someone with the Moon in Aries follows this flow of energy through their emotions, as described by the Emperor card. In taking the meanings of the Moon card, especially with the implications of a difficult time ahead that is most necessary (“the passage of darkness that must be traveled through”) for creating strength and fortitude (“in order to see the light”) and looking at the nature of conquest, strife, and victory all wrapped up into one card, the Moon card would represent the strife. This is where creativity and ambition don’t always meet eye to eye, and about half the time, ambition will be greater than the creativity involved and the other half would be a world’s worth of creativity with no ambition to carry it out. This is where it is easy to see the nature of balance that exists in the Universe, even if the balance isn’t always in an evenly distributed way. The nature of the Full Moon in Aries will provide an energy that is able to come across as aggressive.
Aries Sun Signs will have a much better position of forwardness during this period, as this is able to help to create a greater initiative from the subconscious, which will dictate the Aries emotions, thus creating fortitude of their actions. Sun in Libra individuals, however, will find things to be far more difficult, because of the uneven balance that is able to be felt, but as things start to move away from this position, Libras will begin to strengthen their resolve for seeing, much more clearly, the balance that is able to bring their more virtuous stances. Taking precautions, and being consciously aware of this energy, though, can certainly help to hone in on the difficulties that are able to be created by this, but not dwelling on this as a negative stance is also something that should be taken into consideration.
For everyone, the Moon in Aries is able to create energy that feeds into restlessness, but finding ways to relax while still being active, will be helpful during this time period. For work, it is easy to see creative positions jumping from one idea to another, where it can be more challenging to focus. When dealing with everyone from friends to family, from spouses to coworkers, tempers can swell and explode quickly, because of impetuous actions that can seem to offend, even if no offense was meant. Taking the time to be mindful for how to care about how one’s actions will affect someone else, will be very important for the ways that this will come forward to a more positive stance.
New Moon in Libra:
On October 7th at 9:10 PM EST, the New Moon will be in Libra, which is determined in the Tarot by the two of swords. In the Minor Arcana, this is the closest position that is shown, pictorially, to Justice. It typically depicts the position of a woman with her back to the crescent moon and the ocean, with two swords crossed in front of her, while being blindfolded. Not only does this represent the blindness of justice, but it also shows the disposition of peace and tranquility that is able to be emanated from within.
Be cautious, during this time, not to allow intellect to be suppressed due to positions of love. Both can find balance, and often times, love is able to create positions for us that allow us to think with our hearts as opposed to our minds, creating regret. This is the challenge that is able to come forward from the Moon in Libra, but when we allow ourselves to feel a stance that creates positions of openness for both sides of the scales, it is much easier to see these positions in a clearer capacity.
The New Moon in Libra is a great time for pondering the positions that have been able to occur during the Sun in Libra, and far too often, this holds true, because of some of the eventual positions that are able to be forthcoming. When this introspection is gained, especially in terms of what we see occurring on a societal scale, we are able to gain insights as to where true justice is able to emerge from. Understanding the ways that we can move forward, without holding anything under will, can create a greater stance for how we are able to feel love more vibrantly and understand the plights of others, especially in terms of how we can impact the world through something as simple as a vote at the polls.
For people with the Sun in Aries, this will be able to create a more subdued energy. Water signs will be able to find more balance, thus creating a position for being able to contend with the impending holiday season. This can create a stance for looking forward to what the end of the year will bring, but it is also able to develop a stance for communicating emotions that may come across, to others, as difficult.
Mercury is the fastest traveler through the Zodiac, and can create a steady flow of energy or promote upheaval and discourse, especially when in retrograde. In the Tarot, Mercury is represented by the Magician card, and represents the light and dark side of this Planet through the meaning of the card. Right side up, this card shows the light side of traits most found in Gemini and Virgo and reversed, is able to show nefariousness, lies, deceit, etc. Also known as “the Trickster,” when this card is reversed, it can show what is about to happen when Mercury goes into retrograde one of three times each year.
Mercury in Libra:
On September 21, 2018 at 11:40 PM EST, Mercury will move out of Virgo and into Libra, where it will stay until October 9, 2018 at 8:40 PM EST. During this time, with the position of the Sun in Libra, this will create a feasibility in communication throughout each Sun sign in the Zodiac, meaning that no matter who you are, past tensions will be easy to be resolved and can create positions of forgiveness for past transgressions, openness to others’ thoughts and ideas, and allow for more meaningful conversations to occur. This tends to be a very diplomatic time in the Zodiac, and can allow for thoughtfulness to reign over disagreement and strife.
Libra tends to embody a natural ability to lean toward peacemaking, and is the resolver of disagreement. This is an excellent time for furthering the development of friends and family, but can also allow a greater position to emerge for romantic relationships. Virgos, Libras, and Scorpios are the only three Sun Signs that would be able to have Mercury in Libra, but for all three of them, this can create lighthearted and open-minded communication, which can magnify their greatest strengths.
This combination in the Zodiac is portrayed in the Tarot with the Justice card and the Magician, which creates balance through communication. The position of the Magician in the Tarot is Mercury, and when there is no retrograde of Mercury, the “trickster” magician is shadowed, thus leaving a resolve for harkening stability, especially by means of communication. As the manifester of the archetypes in the Tarot, it is the Magician’s position to speak. While being in Libra, this can create a stronger understanding for the importance of words and can deeply show the impact that words can have to hinder or help an individual, group, society, or even the world.
Mercury in Scorpio:
On October 9, 2018 at 8:40 PM EST, Mercury will move from Libra and into Scorpio, which gives the ability to see that the only way to move forward is by engaging with ensuing darkness, which can only be defeated by traveling through its tunnel and coming out, preferably unscathed, on the other side. This position in the Zodiac is able to create misunderstandings by virtue of thoughts, ideas, or even statements of fact that are able to emerge, with a lack of belief for said thoughts, ideas, or statements. This can create challenges, especially for Scorpios, when it comes to striving to convey the positions that are near and dear to their hearts.
The only Sun signs that will have Mercury in Scorpio are Libras, Scorpios, and Sagiattarian individuals. For Libras, it is much easier to find a balanced position, because of the courtesy that Mercury will always play to an air sign over water and fire signs. Conveying thoughts and ideas, although will be questioned, aren’t such that they will be disbelieved after a certain measure of thought emerges.
For Scorpios, this reminds me of Cassandra, in Greek Mythology, who was blessed with the gift of sight, to always know the future, but was cursed such that no one believed her. Persistence is the greatest way to overcome this position, and to state elements of what needs to be said, in such a way that it adheres to the way that a person receiving the information would perceive the information themselves. This can be very challenging, and is such that Scorpios in all their mystery are able to find it to be easier to understand other people, which can certainly be a blessing for overcoming such a stance.
For Sagittarian people, their resolve is to seek out their truth and to understand the world and Universe in such a way that it allows them to find connections between society. This makes the position of Mercury in Scorpio less stark, but it can create a nature of indecision for a Sagittarian individual, with the sense that they are dealt the short end of the stick. Remembering that choosing not to choose is still a decision can be a daunting task for a Sagittarian individual, but understanding this energy can help to overcome obstacles that would otherwise emerge.
Mercury in Sagittarius:
On October 31st, 2018 at 12:40 AM EST, Mercury will move into Sagittarius, which is shown in the Tarot with the eight of wands. Scorpios, Sagittarians, and Capricorns are the only three Sun SIgns that possess Mercury in Sagittarius and can affect all three of them in completely different ways. This is a swift action of forwardness, without a resolve for thoughtfulness, which can add an even deeper indecisive energy to a Sagittarian individual’s disposition. This is a position of strength, but it is also able to create challenges, when it comes to forgetting that sometimes you have to look back a ways to see where you have been. Otherwise, it is too easy to get lost. This tends to be a very scattered energy and create hindrances in written and verbal communication. This doesn’t necessarily lead to misunderstandings of information, but rather, can create misconceptions about the individual that possesses Mercury in Sagittarius.
For Scorpio members of the Zodiac, this energy is able to create more outgoingness, thus enabling a stance of fortitude, as it relates to Scorpio, allowing them to let those closest to them to see some of the more deeply hidden aspects of themselves. For those that don’t take the time to properly respect a Scorpio individual, because of preconceived notions, this is able to destabilize the positions that they need, thus creating tension, which can ramp up while Mercury is in Sagittarius.
For Capricorns, this energy is able to emerge in a very individualistic way. This is able to create elements of openness for themselves, especially when it comes to the projects that they most desire doing, whether it is parenting, working, or artistic endeavors. Mercury in Sagittarius can be a most merciful position for these individuals, and can allow for creative endeavors to take shape in a faster way, with a resolve for achieving perfection. This is met with a desire for instant gratification, and can serve as a driving force for enacting such endeavors.
Mercury in Retrograde:
Mercury in Scorpio and Mercury in Sagittarius, both, will be felt in two different ways three times this year, two times with a direct energy and once while Mercury is in retrograde for the third and final time this year. Deeper misunderstandings, arguments, and communication aren’t the only things impacted by Mercury’s retrograde. Travel plans, flight delays, technological mishaps, and other such things as credit card fraud and identity theft can occur.
On November 16th, 2018 at 9:33 PM EST, Mercury will start its stance to go into retrograde (just in time for Thanksgiving). This can actually stabilize individuals that already have Mercury in Retrograde in Sagittarius, but can certainly wreak havoc for everyone else, especially in terms of how stress is dealt with. “Cooler heads always prevail” would be a great motto to take on while this is able to occur.
On December 1st, 2018 at 7:40 AM EST, Mercury will continue its retrograde and will move from Sagittarius to Scorpio, creating a sudden shift when it comes to how people are able to deal with each other, especially when misunderstandings are prevalent. This will still disrupt travel plans, but in a lesser way, but will lead to challenges when it comes to stolen credit cards, identity theft, etc., so do be careful with what you do with your online information over this course of time. Fortunately, this energy will only last for a bit less than 6 days, before Mercury will move direct again on December 6th, 2018 at 5:21 PM EST through Scorpio, at which point it will shift back into Sagittarius on December 11th, 2018 at 9:42 PM EST.
Venus, the ruler of Libra and Taurus, has the capacity for bringing beauty to the equation, in a most materialistic sense (Venus will be discussed in further detail, below). It is earthly beauty that Venus corresponds to, as it rules both Libra and Taurus. During the first part of the Sun in Libra, Venus will continue its shadow period, where it appears to be still in the sky (a shadow period is a position that takes hold of a planet before it begins a retrograde/direct period). Venus plays favor to more financially driven matters to Taurus, especially when it comes to success in business and can, oftentimes, create love that is felt in more superficial capacities.
In the Tarot, Venus is represented by the Empress card, which provides the balance to the Emperor. The Empress holds both measures of earthly beauty and superficiality, but also understands the importance of the nature of love, which is able to create the greater degree of openness that can otherwise be thwarted by Mars and Saturn.
Venus in Scorpio:
Venus is in Scorpio! While in this stance, it is not wise to make final decisions when it comes to relationships, and is also such that understanding what we want, before making any decisions, could lead to regret, if decisions are made too hastily. In the Tarot Venus in Scorpio is the seven of cups, which can create, on the surface, a clear understanding of what we want, until we realize that we should have been careful for what we wished for. This can lead to quick decisions to hold back that which we really want, because we don’t recognize that it is not only what we want, it is also what we need. If we reach for something in a more outward way during this time, its permanence is far from guaranteed, as it is such that for as quickly as we reached out for it, we throw it across the room in contempt. Taurus individuals will find a more challenging capacity for understanding the path of love during this time, as well as Scorpios, many of which will be intertwined with each other.
Venus in Scorpio in Retrograde:
On October 5th, 2018 at 3:04 PM EST, Venus will move into its retrograde position through Scorpio where it will appear to move backwards in the sky. This is when it will be easier to make these final decisions, as the retrograde motion of Venus will create a less superficial disposition, thus creating a more tangible position that will help us to understand the greater mechanism for what we do need. This position is able to create a greater degree of splendor, when it comes to how we are able to more plainly see that which we want to obtain. This will provide a very wonderful time for Taurus and Scorpio Sun Signs, especially those that are involved romantically with each other.
Venus in Libra in Retrograde:
On October 31st, 2018 at 3:46 PM EST, Venus will enter into Libra and will continue its retrograde approach until November 16th, 2018. During this time, Venus, as the ruling Planet of Libra can create a more superficial stance when it comes to love, unlike the position that negates superficiality when Venus goes through Scorpio in its retrograde. This will, once again, be a time when decisions won’t want to be made hastily, especially in terms of superficiality, as this is able to create a quick snap to boredom, thus creating challenges when it comes to love. During normal circumstances, when Venus moves through Libra, this is all about the emotion of love, which strips away the nature of superficiality, but this can prove to be all the more difficult when the retrograde occurs. Dates picked up at the Halloween party, although may seem fun and charming in costume, can be revealed as just the opposite, especially when the sun comes up the next day.
Venus in Libra Direct:
On November 16th, 2018 at 6:51 AM EST, Venus will move direct through Libra thus creating the more normal circumstance for this position that I mentioned above. This is the proverbial sun rising, revealing the truth about the fictitious Halloween date, but all joking aside, this is something that should be absolutely avoided, because of the pain that it will be able to create, and the hot and cold positions that will be able to emerge, once Venus returns to Scorpio.
Venus in Scorpio Direct (Take-Two):
Venus will move back into Scorpio on December 2nd, 2018 at 12:54 PM EST. It will move throughout Scorpio until January 7th, 2019 at 7:17 AM EST, at which point it will enter into Sagittarius (which I will be writing about in my next quarterly astrological article). During this time, the Halloween date that was dumped will be yearned for once again, because of the more superficial standing that this is able to create, so please do utilize caution, so as not to have your heart broken and so that you can keep someone else’s heart from being broken.
Mars, although symbolizes war, is the “Warrior” of the Zodiac, and represents the nature of action that stems from desire. Representing the potency when it comes to human survival, Mars dictates how we handle our “fight or flight” response. As the “Warrior,” Mars is able to create a stance of forwardness, especially when trying to overcome obstacles, but Mars has its own set of rules that it plays by.
Mars in Aquarius:
On September 10th, 2018 at 8:53 PM EST, Mars moved into Aquarius for the second time this year. This can be a very challenging energy, because of the position of indifference that it is able to create. It will remain in Aquarius until November 15th, 2018 at 10:20 PM, at which point it will enter into Pisces.
The “water bearer” sign tends to follow the trajectory of a theologian that fights for humanitarian causes, and so with the Warrior Planet moving retrograde through this position, it is able to bring an understanding for what the path of peace will entail, along with an ability for being noble in fighting for what’s right. This will be the shift of focus that will come forward over this time in the news and media, and will affect the world at large. But this is also a time for people with Mars in Aquarius in their sign to get more enjoyment out of life and to see that which is good in the world.
The position of Mars in Aquarius will be a good time to start relationships that are based on romance, but do be careful in starting relationships that are contingent on attraction, as this will not last long. Mars in Aquarius holds no patience for superficiality, which is part of how it is able to create such change and bring things to light that one might deem unjust over this course of time. This can prove to be a challenging time for Water Signs.
In the Tarot, Mars is represented by the Tower card, which on its surface shows destruction, but Mars can also be the position that rebuilds the Tower from its position of devastation. Aquarius is shown with the Star Card, and shows the clear vision of the direction that one should go in their path, but with this pairing Mars creates a positive fortitude, even though it can create hindrances for individuals with the Sun in Aquarius. Such individuals might find themselves pulling away, because of a stance of indifference. Because it is so easy for a member of Aquarius to find such fortitude for themselves an obstruction like Mars traveling through its path can diminish the position of fortitude that would otherwise be created.
Mars in Pisces:
On November 15th, 2018 at 6:20 PM EST, Mars will move through Pisces, which is, arguably, one of the most benevolent positions in the Zodiac, in terms of empathy, compassion, and understanding. But it is able to use rather unorthodox means to create this stance of empathy. People entering into a relationship during this course of time will find their relationships being long-lasting with a sense of love that is almost too much to bear. This is Mars’ final position before entering into the sign of the Zodiac that it rules, Aries.
Mars in Pisces is described in the Tarot with the ten of cups, and shows the nature of contentment, satiety, and happiness that is able to derive from love. Full disclosure must be made between two people that meet during this time, to begin a romantic nature, but honesty will win the war. Being open and honest about one’s past to one’s partner and expecting the same in return, is where this nature of full disclosure is able to create this greater position of contentment, and it is able to serve as a means for stabilizing the foundation of the relationship that is able to form. Because this position will be forming during Scorpio, this will enable complementing positions (more than opposites) of the Zodiac to find themselves creating strong and long standing relationships with each other. For example, Aquarius and Gemini, Taurus and Virgo, or Cancer and Pisces individuals are able to find this to be a more prominent time for joining together in greater romantic relationships.
On December 31st, 2018 at 10:19 PM, Mars will move into Aries, which I will write about in my next quarterly astrological article.
Jupiter, the “Greater Benefic,” serves the purpose of bringing truth to light, where it has a karmic disposition for shifting principles and thoughts of society, in order to pave the way for new endeavors. Venus, the “Lesser Benefic” is able to bring a stance of materialism and superficiality or love that exists outside of the confines of more worldly positions. As such, Venus rules Taurus and Libra whereas Jupiter rules Sagittarius. In the Tarot, Jupiter is the Wheel of Fortune card,
Jupiter enables each sign in the Zodiac, as it passes through, the ability for it to overcome its primary obstacle.Where Sagittarian individuals search for truth, Scorpio is encumbered with mystery, Jupiter’s resolve is to reveal the secrets of what that mystery truly is. Although Jupiter isn’t nearly as karmic of a Planet as Saturn is, do right by Jupiter and it will do right by you.
Jupiter in Scorpio Winding Down/Jupiter in Sagittarius:
Jupiter is currently in Scorpio and will remain until it shifts positions into Sagittarius on November 8th, 2018 at 8:38 AM EST. The position of Jupiter during this time has been rather complicated, especially in the ways that it has impacted established businesses, foreign entities, as well as shifting global consciousness to the point that it needs to have, in order to achieve a stronger position for seeing how various shifts in the world are taking hold. Jupiter in Scorpio was “Scorpio’s revenge,” where the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements occurred under this astrological position and will continue to make their marks on society, even once the energy of Jupiter in Scorpio subsides.
Jupiter in Sagittarius can be seen as “Sagittarius’s truth.” On November 8th, 2018 at 8:38 AM EST, Jupiter will move into its domicile, the Zodiac Sign that it rules, Sagittarius. This can be seen as “Sagittarius’s Truth,” as this will reveal the greater aspects of society that have been diminished, leading a course of action that will help to rectify this position to conform with the will of the Universe. For the next nearly 13 months, while Jupiter is in Sagittarius, this will create a stance of openness when it comes to thoughts and ideas that stand to promote the truth, where validity in positions will be seen in ways that would have struggled with the truth for the last couple of years. Jupiter in Sagittarius raises levels of empathy in societies and individuals, both, and creates strong positions for striving to achieve positions that are just and fair. This energy will last until December 2nd, 2019, at which point Jupiter will enter into Capricorn, where change and transformation is eminent.
Saturn, the most karmic Planet, has been on its path through Capricorn since December 5th, 2017. Saturn is able to create entropy by virtue of carrying itself with an uncanny ability to bestow limitations and restrictions on the confines of what society is able to become. If individuals and societies find it to be a struggle to adhere to what is right (in terms of what the Universe’s will is, astrologically), then it is able to create repercussions by the end of the given cycle that it is in. This can create upheaval if historical positions of tradition aren’t followed, especially for those trying to break the barriers, as such. Saturn can be a benevolent placement if such predetermined situations are adhered to, but if there is a resolve for intention to break the boundaries of law and order, this can be most difficult.
In the Tarot, it is the Devil card that represents the nature of Capricorn, not because it is evil, but rather, because of the common understanding of the archetypes as Capricorn having a sway toward earthly positions that can include materialism, but also lacks a focus in spirituality, unless there is a conscious effort to do so. Pride tends to be a position of Capricorn individuals, especially when it comes to their own work, hobbies, artistic endeavors, and family.
Saturn in Capricorn in Retrograde:
As of September 5th, 2018 at 7:08 AM EST, Saturn moved from a retrograde position in Capricorn, and began to go direct. This course will continue until it will reach a retrograde position again on April 28th, 2019 at 8:54 PM EST. Saturn is the ruling Planet of Capricorn, therefore is in its domicile. This position focuses on the patriarchal positions of society, but also restricts forward momentum for us, until we are willing to learn the lessons of this karmic planet, without an expectation for gaining anything in return. It is currently operating with a brutal strength, which can be felt in business sectors and more materialistic positions of life. Saturn will remain in Capricorn, retrogrades and all, until December 17th, 2020.
Uranus forces us to expect that which is unexpected. When in retrograde, these changes can be a little easier to manage, which makes some of the other elements of what is occurring astrologically a bit less daunting to contend with. Group settings are able to find a strengthened resolve for success during the retrograde motion of Uranus, especially because of the various personalities within a group that could influence other elements of it in what could only be deemed in an unexpected way. In the Tarot, this card is represented by the Fool, and represents the consciousness that began with the first person, expanding itself throughout society and culture. It’s resolve is to constantly move forward, and so when in retrograde, it is able to diminish its position.
Uranus’ influence is the epitome of “expect the unexpected.” Regardless of the direction of Uranus’ transit, we must navigate the sudden changes that get thrown out. Some of us thrive on routine and consistency, and when Uranus has game, we feel like we’re thrown into a proverbial blender. The sudden changes are actually subdued somewhat while Uranus’ transit is retrograde. The period of Uranus retrograde allows us chance to think a little about our reaction to changes. It also gives us a chance to rethink and organize our need for change. Many groups formed while Uranus is direct, actually find more structure and organization after Uranus has begun retrograde motion.
Uranus in Aries, Take-Two:
Since August 7th, 2018 at 12:49 PM EST, Uranus has been moving in retrograde through Taurus, which has been able to create a challenged stance in terms of what we can expect with financial entities, corporations, insurance companies, etc..
